View File Extentions
|
By default, file extensions for registered applications are hidden. There are many times it is useful to know the extension, as there could be more than one file of the same name in any folder. Here's how to set your computer so you can see your extensions. 2. Click the Tools menu, Folder Options.
3. From the resulting screen, click the View tab. Now, look for the option to "Hide extensions for known file types". You need to uncheck it in order to see the extensions (it's checked by default).
