Setting Folder Order
|
Do have a folder you use all the time? Want to make it easier to access? Simply rename it and put a number "1" in front of it. Since Windows lists folders alphabetically, it will be on the top of any folder list you view. Here's an example of original listings for folders:
In case you're not sure how to re-name folders: 1. Right-click My Computer, Explore. 2. Navigate to the folder. Right-click it and select "rename" from the resulting menu.
3. The name of the folder is now highlighted. Click it once with your left mouse button so that the whole name is no longer selected. 4. Using your arrow keys, move the cursor into position before the first letter in the name of the folder. Type the number 1 and hit enter.
5. That's it. Hit F5 (refresh view) and you'll see your folder listed at the top now.
Important Note: It may not be a good idea to rename a folder you didn't create. If you rename a program folder, you probably won't be able to access the program from its shortcut any more, or worse, an application may no longer function! |
