Listen to Music Online for Free without Downloading Anything
Deezer

Deezer.com is a free and legal website for listening to music. Simply go to the website and search for what you want to hear (they have a large selection) and press play. If you create a free account you can create custom playlists that are saved on the site to be accessed from any computer. Pretty nifty huh?

Yahoo!
now helps you search

Yahoo!

In an effort to become as popular as the search giant Google; Yahoo! has embedded a new feature into their search engine dubbed "Search Assist." While typing in what you want to search for, the "search assist" window appears below the text box with popular suggestions from successful searches in the past. During testing, users were apparently 61% more successful in completing their search task than without the feature. Couldn't hurt to try something besides Google...

Tips of the Month

1.

Password protect folders in Windows XP.
Do you have private folders on your computer that you don't want other users to have access to? Perhaps your kids mess with your Turbo Tax data or how about those pictures from Vegas that nobody needs to know about? Regardless of why you want to limit access to a folder, clicking the link below will quickly and easily show you how.

2.

The print screen button does something!?
You know that button that you pushed a couple of times expecting your printer to actually print what was on your screen? The button doesn't literally print out your screen, but it does do something else. If you push the button and then open up any image editing software or any text editing software with imaging capabilities (Microsoft Word, Wordperfect, etc.) and press Ctrl + V (Paste); an image of your screen will be brought into the program. So the next time you have an error message that you can never replicate when your IT guy actually shows up (but swear it actually exists); just use this little trick to capture it quick and easily in hopes that the IT people will believe you.

3.

Flash drive is the new floppy .
You haven't heard? Well in the past couple of years you may have noticed people carrying around these funny little sticks that they plug into the front of their computer that store data. Well it turns out that someone developed the ultimate floppy drive killer and some of them can hold more than a DVD (that's about 4,000 times more capacity than a floppy...). Most new computers don't even come with floppy drives due to these guys. Need to catch up? Well just click here to learn how to use one.

News

Get Windows XP while you still can.
Due to the reluctance of users to switch to Windows Vista or even order new computers with Vista pre-installed. Microsoft has decided to continue selling Windows XP until June 2008. Hopefully by then Microsoft will have ironed out all of the bugs and all the software that we love will be compatible with Vista. After-all, once July 2008 rolls around we won't have a choice but to purchase Windows Vista with new computers.
