Blu-Ray Now The Official
Hi-def DVD Format

Apple

The Hi-Def format war that has been waging for the past year and a half or so between HD-DVD and Blu-ray is over with Blu-ray the victor.

Until now consumers had no way of knowing which format player to purchase for Hi-def DVD's.

Toshiba officially announced that HD-DVD players and discs will no longer be manufactured.

This came after Warner and other movie studios announced they would no longer support the format. Blu-ray players are built into the Sony Playstation 3; which also helped Blu-ray win the war.

Designed to be the ultimate compendium of living creatures, the "Encyclopedia of Life" is the first of its kind. It will be a "live document" that will be continually expanded as new discoveries are found.

Still No Need To Upgrade To Vista
Windows Vista has been on the market for just over one year and there are still no reasons to upgrade. There aren't any programs that will run on Vista that won't run on Windows XP. Windows Vista requires much more system resources to run than XP – 2 GB or RAM as well as a faster CPU; so why upgrade only to run the same programs but slower? Not only that, but there are many existing software applications that simply will not run on Vista, especially many proprietary business software packages. Some programs can be made to run in Vista, but may require a costly upgrade.
Microsoft is set to release the first Service Pack for Vista in the middle of March. If you already have a machine with Vista installed, it's definitely worth upgrading - but not until they have a final OFFICIAL release. Microsoft didn't "perfect" Windows XP until they released Service Pack 2.
The new service pack boasts minor performance upgrades, but nothing major enough to warrant upgrading your system.
Unfortunately, you'll only be able to purchase a new PC with XP pre-installed until June 30, 2008, & we strongly recommend doing so for as long as possible, especially for business computers.
